For Notre Dame Grads and Friends

The 90s

Stephanie Milberry (1992) always makes sure to catch up with a couple of old ND friends on her rare trips back to Toronto and always has a good time reminiscing about their days at the school. She’s living in Knoxville, Tennessee now. She and her husband moved there after three years in Oregon, where he was pursuing his PhD in Wood Science. His assistant professorship at the University of Tennessee landed them there a year ago. She is home with their three children, Emerson is seven, Alice Peach is two and Oscar is seven months. She loves being a stay-at-home Mum after six years studying French in France, at UofT and at UNB in Fredericton. (She credits Mme. Corriero with her love of French). She’s also a doula, providing support to women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, and enjoys that work as well.

Surprisingly I married my grade 10 boyfriend, Fernando (Fern), right after high school and we recently celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. We currently reside in Niagara Falls, ON with our 2 children…..our son, Carlos is 17 and heading off to University in September and our daughter, Selena is 12 and in grade 6. My husband is the Hotel Manager at a property here in the Falls and I am the Administrator for a private Merchant Bank in Fort Erie. I love keeping in touch with old friends from Notre Dame via Facebook and seeing how great everyone is and watching everyone’s families grow! I’m very much looking forward to the 70th Anniversary in October:) My favorite Dame memory? Our Band trip to New York City with Sister Fortin……best time ever!!

Hey everyone. I am so glad that I am able to be a part of the 70th Anniversary at Dame. The last anniversary I participated in was the 50th as I was attending the school at the time. I hope that a lot of us will be able to make it back to walk the halls and rekindle old memories. After leaving Dame I went on to do a few different jobs and settled in my current position working at the Hospital for Sick Children 8 years ago. I have 4 children aged almost 15, 10, 8 and 8months.  Can’t wait till October.

Michelle Heidrick (1996)

After graduation Michelle became involved in her family business, Katie’s Cakes. The business was started and run her grandmother then by Michelle’s mother. Katie worked hard learning about cake decorating and wedding planning and she eventually took over the business making it even more successful. She has made cakes for the University of Toronto and the Archdiocese. She has also been featured several times on Breakfast Television. For years Michelle’s  cake has been enjoyed  at the annual alumnae open house. Michelle is married and has a son, Alec.

Laura Pires ( 1998)
Upon completion of university Laura pursued a career in teaching. Two years ago she married her high school sweetheart, Billy. She is presently teaching elementary school at St. Rose of Lima in Toronto.
